Chess in the Black Castle assumes you know the rules of chess. Terrible news! Chesster has gone missing and King Black is claiming to be the best chess player in the land!
Fritz and Bianca head off trying to find Chesster. On finding Chesster, he immediately sets to work helping improve Fritz and Bianca's chess skills so that they can escape from King Black.
Fortunately King Black's basement is full of Chess training machines. The chess training machines cover all sorts of chess skills.
Here we are shown a very useful chess opening. Some of the challenges are "arcade-style" games.
A map is available to help you keep track of your progress. Even "Fool's mate" is covered.

When you feel ready you can play a game of chess.

Some of the challenges are "arcade-style" games. The games are played out against the colourful background of a fun fair.
In many of the games the player is encouraged to think things through before making their move. Each mini-game is clearly explained before you play.
